For my final piece, I want to incorporate manipulating the face with special effects makeup and photoshop. I'm still not completely sure what kind of direction I will go in, but I am interested creating the illusion of turning the three dimensional figure into a two dimensional one. An artist that has bee inspiring me lately is Sophie Derrick

She applies paint to her subjects, photographs them, and then paints over the photograph to give the illusion that there is no photograph. I find this technique fascinating, so my goal with this project is to take inspiration from her process, without appropriating her work.
